Textbook: Warriner’s English Grammar
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the great literary works that lie at the root of Greco-Roman, and therefore, western civilization. Students will read three epic poems in English translation. These readings will serve as the basis for classroom discussions, reading quizzes, essays, and examinations. Students will also receive instruction in English grammar in order that they might strengthen their command of the language and thereby improve writing, reading, and communication skills.
