Our Advanced Placement English Language and Composition course engages the students in becoming skilled readers of classical texts, especially Shakespearean plays.  Both their writing and their readings make students aware of interactions among a writer’s purposes, audiences and argumentative styles in order to enable our students to succeed at university level and eventually graduate level writing.  The composition and grammar component of the course is coupled with practical application of SAT vocabulary words.  In this manner, we develop the student’s breadth of knowledge and competence in the basics of English Language.
